Kathy Binns, PhD

Kathy Binns earned a PhD in Linguistics from SUNY-Buffalo. Her focus was American and other signed languages. She also has Master’s degrees in English, Linguistics, Complementary Alternative Medicine, and Transpersonal Psychology. She’s taught at Lee University, SUNY-Buffalo, and, when she was active duty military, two tours at the United States Air Force Academy. She currently works for the US Army as an IT Specialist. To maintain good health and centeredness, she savors time outdoors hiking, biking, and kayaking. Her regular yoga and meditation practice includes sound/vibrational healing with crystal bowls, drums, and other instruments. Creative interests include cooking new dishes, tending her small garden, and preparing herbal remedies. She also enjoys photography, knitting, quilting, broom making, woodworking, and paper crafting. Two dogs and two cats, all rescues, make their home with Kathy in Kentucky. She is also a licensed wildlife rehabilitator and volunteers at Second Chances Wildlife Center.
